How much time has passed between the end of Hob and the beginning of Dark Science? Kaito seems to have aged quite a bit since "Hob #26 - Epilogue." Will this be explained in future plot or was it just convenient to the story for him to be older? (Totally fine if the latter's the case.)

Kusanagi’s “younger” appearance in Hob will be explained later. Suffice to say for now, this is what he “really” looked like around the time of Hob. Do with that what you will!
The real-life answer is that I didn’t have a strong visual idea for him in Hob, just a famous inventor. He’s exponentially more developed in Dark Science and, aside from needing a stronger design, he required a much longer lifespan for the backstory of Dark Science to work. With this in mind, though, I do have an upcoming explanation for why he looks different in Hob. It’ll be my first retcon!
