In Hob, one of the primary sources of inspiration was the philosophy of transhumanism. This served as my introduction to the work of Ray Kurzweil and others. The world of Dark Science is the same as in Hob, but as you have said before, we saw only a tiny slice of the world. In Dark Science, will we see more of this influence, or is there another philosophical framework at play in Nephilopolis that we havent encountered yet?

The fact that Kim is a cyborg necessitates that some element of her stories are almost always going to have transhumanism in there. That said, Dark Science is much less of a “transhuman” story than Hob. Hob was explicitly about different views of transhuman technology and the singularity, while Dark Science is about science and its effect on society. I don’t want to reveal more than that; suffice to say, Dark Science is a very different type of story and setting, despite sharing a continuity.
